Movie : Thavamai Thavamirundhu

At last, watched this movie on Sunday (day before yesterday) with Mani. This movie had very good reviews from the media. Anyway, I am not going to review this movie. Just wanted to write my opinion.

Great Job by Cheran to take movie of “Life history of a family – parents and two sons” that runs for 3 hours and 15 minutes with minimal love/romance, no fights and no comedy – and to make the audience sit in the theatre.

Very few movies makes my eyes wet. It is one such great movie. First half itself made me feel so much :)). The second half was also so monotonous that I switched from feelings mode to analyzing mode. I can’t feel for 3 hrs continuously! That was the only problem I found with this movie.

Some things like hero’s father insisting on “keeping old fashioned name for his grand-daughter” and mother asking why “halwa only for your wife – don’t we have mouth” are debatable….

It’s a very good movie, don’t miss it.

    >I wont see such serious type movies. I like the films like “King kong”…

  • Krish

    >Yep… I also want to watch “King Kong”. Looks like it is a good movie. Saw some clippings in KTV.

    BTW, TT is not a serious type movie πŸ™‚ – more of emotions – that’s it…

  • Ghost Particle

    >Hye, thats a good opinion of the movie,…it did not get that many good reviews around here…

  • Krish

    >@GP:
    Yep… it also depends on the mood you are in. There were around dozen college students near us.

    In the second half they started making fun whenever there are emotional scenes πŸ™‚

    Two of them walked off before the movie was over !

    >sounds good
    i like these kind of emotional/serious movies… than stupid love storis and action movies.

    but i don’t understand a word even if i watch it πŸ™‚

  • Krish

    >@chaitu:
    I like emotional/serious movies – but , not always :))

    I like romantic/love story movies thought it is stupid πŸ˜‰

    I hate Telugu/Tamil action movies – For action I watch English movies…

    >Ya, i’ve heard through my friends that TT is good to watch and I want to.

    >>>I like emotional/serious movies – but , not always :))

    i like them always πŸ™‚
    “Koshish” is one of my all time favourites. also Mr&Mrs Ayyar.

    >>I like romantic/love story movies thought it is stupid πŸ˜‰

    i don’t say i hate them… but they are not of my preference πŸ™‚
    i do watch them(not all) sometimes… in that “Maine Pyar Kiya” is my all time favourite πŸ™‚
    also “Hrudayam”(a tamil movie dubbed into telugu).

    >>I hate Telugu/Tamil action movies – For action I watch English movies…

    no action movies πŸ™‚

  • Krish

    >@sumi:
    U’ll enjoy it πŸ™‚

    @chaitu:
    //i like them always :)//
    Very good πŸ˜‰

    Anyway, it depends on the movie. Narration of the movoe is important in any movie. We may not like all serious type movies.

    //
    no action movies :)//
    v.v good πŸ™‚

    I don’t like movies like “Rocky-I,II,II..” , WWE etc.,

    Have seen Matrix 1,2,3? Don’t u like the action part in it?
